Today, the news came that I had been dreading for years: Nintendo will be ending support for Pokemon Bank, the technology that allowed Pokemon to be transferred between X&Y and Sun & Moon and also all 3DS Pokemon to the Switch, on February 26th, 2027.
I can’t say I’m surprised by this; Nintendo has been hinting for a while that this will eventually occur. But, I’m still really upset about it. I recently decided that I was going to do a living, Shiny origin dex Basically getting each Pokemon in their original games in their shiny variant., except there is no actual way I can conceivably get this done before the end of Pokemon Bank compatibility. Obviously I can wait for when they re-release the games on the Switch, but that is going to take an extremely long time.
All I know what I want to do right now is to finally buy a region unlocked 3DS so I can shiny hunt all forms of Vivillion. If I can at least get that done before the end of the service, then I will at least be somewhat pleased.
